Dalert is attendance-verification software used by employers (such as security firms) to confirm that shift workers were at their assigned site. Your employer decides to use Dalert and controls the data collected through it; Dalert processes that data on your employer's behalf. We handle personal data to the standard of South Africa's POPIA, ahead of Namibian data-protection law coming into force.
Only at the moment you clock in or clock out: a selfie, a single GPS location with its accuracy, the date and time, and a device identifier. Your profile holds your name, phone number or email, role, and employee number, entered by your employer. Dalert does not track your location between clock-ins, and cannot see anything else on your phone.
Verifying attendance at your assigned site, resolving disputes about worked hours, and producing timesheets and attendance reports for your employer and, in summary form, its clients. Nothing else. We do not sell or share your data with anyone other than your employer.
Data is stored with Supabase (hosted on AWS in the EU), encrypted in transit and at rest. Selfies live in private storage accessible only through time-limited signed links. Access is restricted by role: you see your own records; your employer's supervisors see their organisation's records.
For as long as your employer needs it to support its attendance records and billing, typically the duration of your employment plus any legal record-keeping period. Your employer can request deletion of your records when you leave.
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your personal data. Because your employer controls the data, start with them; if you need help, contact us directly and we will assist.
